grunty bryn

watching bryn grunt post nursing brings back memories of a very grunty bailey.

welcome baby bryn!

bryn lam lillvis was born this past tuesday, january 24, 2012 at st. luke's roosevelt hospital. weighing in at 5 lb 15oz and measuring 19.5", she's a very happy, healthy baby. so far she has proven to be quite a bit more chill than her big sister bailey. she doesn't protest too much and is content sleeping through any symphony of sounds. she's also proven to be a champion nurser. just like bailey, she had a bout of jaundice but appears to be on the mend.

grandma merry and paw paw came into town on monday to take care of big sister bailey and have been working overtime as grandparents.

big sister bailey has been doing a great job so far being gentle and loving with her little sister. hopefully we can keep up the love and limit the tantrums.

my c-section recovery has been so much better than the last time around. i was able to walk the day after my surgery. no more hardcore pain meds for me. just taking advantage of all the great help.

we are truly blessed and thankful to have this new addition to the family.

bailey's 2's teacher, valentina, just sent through some pics from her class. you can download it here. enjoy!

our first christmas in new york city was pretty fantastic thanks to a great visit from uncle john and aunt denise (aka uncajohn and auntda). bailey made it through a christmas eve service that was well past her bedtime then we had a great feast prepared by matt and uncle john on christmas day.

earlier in december, after 2 days of bailey asking me to sing "rudolph the red-nosed reindeer" over and over and over again, bailey memorized it on her own (barring the initial confusion of a "froggy christmas eve"). since she learned it, she's been signing it through the streets of manhattan from her stroller, spreading christmas cheer. above, is a special version that uncle john helped her record via his special t-pain app.

hopefully you'll enjoy it as much as i do. it is side-splitting entertainment for me (literally, as i'm still healing from a broken rib mishap that occurred on christmas eve).

anyhow, hope everyone had a wonderful christmas, and we wish everyone a VERY happy 2012. our riches of christmas presents (both material and otherwise) leaves us feeling so very blessed, especially as we look forward to the new addition to our family in the very near future.

xoxo

note: grandma carol has asked for an actual version of bailey singing "rudolph the red-nosed reindeer" so sit tight. that will be coming soon.

jingle bells

due to special request from nadia and grandma carol, another bailey singing video:

thanksgiving in nyc

this year we stayed in nyc for thanksgiving. in the morning, we went to john delatush's office for a prime viewing spot of the macy's thanksgiving day parade. then we came home and were greeted by grandma carol and uncle sam. that night it was a successful first turkey (thanks to an easy food network recipe) and lots of sides. later that weekend, we took bailey to her first movie theater experience with auntie kim. barring 30 minutes of previews and commercials, bailey had a great time and didn't even pee in her pull-ups.
