last night as we were walking home, we noticed a ton of police officers closing down 6th avenue. upon querying our doorman, we discovered obama was just a few streets away at blue hill, having dinner with michelle for date night. shortly thereafter, they were going to go to a broadway show by way of 6th avenue.
tonight we went to the newly reopened washington square park and were lucky enough to see a taping of sesame street. murray monster even took a moment to say hello to bailey!
earlier this week, bailey and i went to a developmental movement class at real birth. although she was a little sleepy, she had alot of fun interacting with the other babies, playing with musical instruments, dancing, and hanging out on the yoga mat and bouncy ball. for me, it was a real eye-opener because i learned that bailey needs to be spending more time on the ground without foam padding. this way, she'll learn to push off of the ground and start crawling. the philosophy of the instructor, dionne kamara, is that babies shouldn't be in containers (strollers, bumbos, exersaucers, etc). rather, they should be held in arms or on the earth on backs or bellies.
this weekend, baby bailey had the good fortune of having both her uncles in the same room at the same time. uncle john and aunt denise were in town for denise's brother's graduation. AND uncle sam was in town to meet bailey for the first time with grandma lam.
for the past few weeks, bailey and i have been getting the blood flowing by going on morning walks along the west side highway with "aunt shlomit". bailey is usually in a pretty good mood in the mornings and likes to watch us get our morning coffee. sometimes she tries to talk as we talk. other times she just catches an early morning nap.
