at this morning's appointment, bailey weighed in at 11lb and measured 22.6 in. she's now above average in weight and height! :-)

she also had 3 vaccinations and 1 oral squirt. even though i nursed her through it, she screamed bloody murder. her face turned red. and she cried her first real tears (or tear as it may be).

some interesting baby facts we learned (based on questions we brought):
- babies are not supposed to be exposed to direct sunlight until they are 6 months old (so no beach vacations for bailey this summer)
- ear infections usually occur after a baby gets a cold (but batting at ears is not a true indication of an ear infection since all babies bat at their ears)
- breastmilk is the best defense a baby has against a cold
- there's no need to use a nasal aspirator unless baby is having trouble breathing or eating
- scheduling feeds during the day can help a baby sleep better at night
